Top TEN for 2013 and a TpT $$$ Giveaway!

Wow, I'm super excited about this post! I am one of those people that love to make lists...and put things down on paper (or lots of sticky notes). It makes me feel like it is ACTUALLY more do-able when I see it written down. Anyone else like that?

So, without wasting any of your time, I'll get right to the list (but stay tuned if you wanna win some TpT cash!!):

My TOP 10 Things I want to IMPROVE ON this year:

1. I'm the Mom of two kids...a 2 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. I'm learning quick that raising up "good" kids is tough. I want to read books like this one and hopefully learn the best tips to raise well rounded, Godly kids.

2. Well...this one is going to take some time, but because we just moved into a new house, there are a lot of things I would like to have DONE by the end of the year...namely, the PAINTING, changing out the stair banisters, and changing out all of the doors (they were not taken care of...let's just leave it at that).

3. My level of patience....

4. This is probably NOT going to surprise anyone, but I really want to set better food examples for my children this year. I am going to try to use a *gulp* weekly MEALS planner/calendar! We'll see how well this goes! My hubs gives it 3 weeks lol :)

5. MY BLOG!!! I mean, come on ya'll...I know some of you have HAD to notice that I have not been posting as often as this same time last year. Life has just happened and I'm not one to push life aside. However, I have so many things I am just dying to share with you and I love it when I get an email or a message thanking me for some idea or resource I have posted...that makes me so happy!

6. Organization! Not just in my home or my classroom, but even the little things, like my purse and my car. I love the feeling when I clean out my purse (granted, it doesn't happen often). I feel so accomplished when it does happen though. My goal this year is to keep all areas of my life MORE ORGANIZED...and thank God there is Pinterest to give me lots of ideas...LIKE THIS ONE:

7. Math and Literacy centers: I want to create more and have them laminated and organized in a way that makes it easy for me to go to a tub and grab depending on the topic and level. This one will take some time, but I want to work on it!

8. Ok...ok...if I'm being honest with myself, I also want to improve on my shape....like, literally my shape. I'd like to become more fit!
I found a picture while moving that was taken before I had kids and it made me want to cry...it seems like so long ago and I haven't even gotten CLOSE to that size since kids...actually, I'm about 5 sizes away, so yeah...a girl can dream, or a girl can DO! I'm going to DO it this year!!!

9. Taking risks and putting myself out there! I rarely try new things that put me in the spotlight or that show off my talents. I have an extreme fear of rejection and failure, but since I've begun blogging and creating for TeachersPayTeachers, that has gotten better. Now, I want that to be put into action in the rest of my life too.

10. Friendships: Yes, I have friends...I actually have lots of amazing friends. I would LOVE to improve on the time we spend together though. Actually, I want to just make more time to see them. It's hard to make it happen sometimes, but after a good laugh with a girlfriend I feel like I can take on the world!

Now, if one of your resolutions or goals it to get a little more organized in your classroom, I hope you'll check out this awesome deal from Educents! Click this picture below to see exactly how much you get....and the entire deal is giving you a 76% discount! (this is one of the deals featured)

  1. Can I just say "ditto" to all ten of these instead of trying to come of with my own? Great list and I know you'll be able to do every single one of these!

  2. I have so many good materials packed in boxes from moving multiple times. I need to sort them out, get out what we can use, and yard sale or give away the rest. 40 years of teaching plus 20 years of running a tutoring business really adds up. Thanks for your Giveaway. cwhaccent@aol.com

  4. I tried a meal planning calendar when my boyfriend and I bought our house. It worked well until I started school, and he started working and going back to school. We have such different schedules that it's hard for us to eat a meal together sometimes. He just started a full time job now though and plans to online classes this semester, so hopefully we can get back to that! Good luck on yours!

  5. I've made my meal planning calendar for the next 4 weeks. I'm good at making the calendar and buying the food---then I don't want to cook! So my goal is to really follow through with it. I also have gained all of my pregnancy weight back and then some and since my daughter is 5, I really can't cling to the whole "oh it's just baby weight"...nope it's just weight that I plan to get rid of this year!

  6. I used to think I was an organized person but I can't seem to keep track anymore. I am doing to many things (or just getting old) but this year I am going to make it a priority. Lucky for me my hubby does most of the cooking!

  7. Hello. I think I was better organized BEFORE I started teaching. I do like to cook but not bake - unless it's break and bake cookies. I'm excited about your raffle!

  8. I'm trying to use the digital calendar at http://www.cozi.com/ to help keep me organized. I always revert back to my paper calendar (school/home combined). Something about writing it down instead of typing that puts it in my brain.
    Happy New Year!
